The Golden MaxiComfort 505 with heat and massage is amazing. I have ALS and the heat option really is worth every penny I spent. The massage is nice too.
The chair is very comfortable and is wide enough that I don't feel cramped at all.
The lumbar support is also a nice feature and the chair is comfortable enough that I find myself falling asleep in it.

Caregiver and handicapped.
|
| Pros |
Sturdy, comfortable, safe, and easy storage.
|
| Cons |
Seat could have been wide. Very short arms rests.
|
|
I love my chair, except for the arms. Therefore I'm in the process of trading up for a better chair. I'd like one with longer arms, wider seat and a footrest included, although the vote is still out on that last one.
I expect to hear from you tomorrow so we can talk, but please don't call too early.

The chair has been great for me, the caretaker, and my husband. Transfers went from scary, difficult events to easy, to safe occurrences. My husband also finds the chair comfortable. It took awhile for him to learn how to work the controls but now he is more independent than he has been in years.

Needs faster mechanics

|
Mechanical movement should be faster. If in full recline and phone rings, people hang up before I can get out of chair. Very comfortable, as I spend many hours per day in it.

I thought that the footrest mechanism is separate from the back mechanism. In my chair when I lift the footrest, the back goes back and vica versa. Is this normal? Therefore, I can't have the back up straight with the footrest up. Please let me know. Thanks.

US Medical Supplies replies:
Thank you for your review. This is not normal operation for a MaxiComfort lift chair. The footrest and back should operate separately. We will place you in contact with Golden's tech support to get this issue resolved.

After a lot of research, I decided on this Golden Lift Chair for my father-in-law. He suffers from CHF and needed a chair that will lift his legs higher than his heart. He is also a big and tall man(6'4", 270 lbs)The only change I would have made is to buy the foot extender. The chair is very quiet and seems to meet his needs with the exception of his feet hanging over the edge.

While this chair is well made it is extremely uncomfortable. Too hard, the arms are too low and the head area pushes my head to my neck. I am not going to keep using this chair as it is too uncomfortable.
