Because of it's adjustability it is a great pain reliever. The right position for relief is just a "button" away.

I weigh 214 lb, and have spent several hours per day in the chair since I received it in October. I suffer knee, hip, and back pain from injuries and arthritis, and have used the massage feature occasionally. This evening as I was attempting to put the foot rest down and bring the back forward I heard a loud clunking sound, and although the motor was working, there was no further motion. I had to climb out of the chair, and found what appeared to be a broken piece of hard black plastic that I could not identify several feet in front of the chair. I tipped the chair (very gently!) on its side, and discovered that the piece of material was part of the front end of the piston, which now resembles the dangling end of a drive shaft after the muffler has blown. I am incapable of abusing the chair, and there was nothing under it to impede its operation. This was a gift, and a great disappointment.

My 76 year old father loves this chair. He had a stroke in 2007 and his health continues to decline. Once the rehab center found out we had purchased this chair, he was able to come home one week early. It allows him to take naps and not have to get up and go to his bed. Makes it very easy on the caregiver since we have to help him get up.

This chair is suppose to be maxicomfort, but it is not it is hard and very uncomfortable to stay in for any length of time. I have a bad back and can not get comfortable in this chair at all. The heat and massage is okay but other than that I would not recommend buying this chair. For the amount of money I spent on this chair I was expecting much better than I received. The wires underneath for the controls come unhooked constantly. I can't believe I paid so much for a chair and just can not tolerate being in it for longer than 10-20 minutes at a time.
I would not recommend this chair to anyone who is looking to be in it for long periods.

My wife and I purchased this for my 81 year-old mother who lives with us because of declining health. She was finding it increasingly (almost impossible) difficult to get out of her seat. Now, she doesn't know how she got by without a lift chair.
