Safe, Easy to Install, Functional
|
| Cons |
Difficult to lubricate

The unit was easy to install, although it took closer to 6 hours rather than the 2-3 hours mentioned in the literature. It is also very difficult to apply the grease to only the sidewalls of the channel and not the bottom. It is easy for my mother to operate.

Could of used a 90 degree Molex connector because the landing wall was 3/4 in. out, too close to in-stall the power cord.
Modified the crank with a pipe cap and 1/4 in,
bolt to be driven with a cordless drill. Beats the
hell out of hand power. All and all it is the best
thing I ever did for my ailing wife.
PS. I forgot to set the stop.

The wiring was incomplete upon arrival - my carpenter spent a lengthy time with customer support to connect wires not connected at the factory.
The chair control cable is very long, and got caught in the chain. A retractable cord would solve the problem
My stair is very narrow, and the lift inpedes stretcher evac - the fire dept about murdered the assembly. A quick release mechanism on the box to rail would be a great feature.
A handle to lower the foot rest, located around the area, would do wonders for entering and exiting the lift.
Overall, its a good product and makes my house more accessible for a 79 year old with a walker

Easy To Install, Great in a tight space, Easy to use

We have been very happy with the stair lift. My father in law was having trouble with the stairs- he was sort of against buying the lift - worried about cost, space, ease of use- and necessity. He had not really admitted to his physical decline- and was sure things had reached a stable state. But once my husband installed the chair- he uses it everyday and states that he didn't realize how exhaused he was after using the stairs and now he has more energy to complete things that he wants to do- The lift itself is narrow enough for a slim set of stairs in a little split level house. With the seat up, it is easy to walk up the stairs past the chair. The lever to operate the chair is large and easy to find and use. We are very happy with the product and now know what we'll buy when MY parents need one. I am just happy that I know that he is safer in that chair than trying to negiotiate the steps- it is solid and feels secure and safe. And the grandkids love to ride it!
