Raleigh, NC – January 15th, 2014 – After reading through thousands of worthy applications, USM has chosen our three winners of the 2013 Medical Professionals of Tomorrow Scholarship. First place and a $3,500 scholarship were awarded to Kathleen Rose Fischer-Price, a nursing major at the University of Washington. Second place and $1,000 went to Vikas Kemp Jayadeva, who is enrolled in the Medical School at the University of Michigan. Ashley Moss, a Biology and Pre-Medicine major at Xavier University of Louisiana, is our third place winner and will receive $500 to put towards her education.
The Medical Professionals of Tomorrow Scholarship Program is part of USM’ commitment to giving back to the community and supporting those who are dedicated to improving the medical field.
Winners were chosen based on their response to the essay question: Why did you choose your current field of study, and what do you aspire to accomplish in this field? All of our applicants had compelling stories and narrowing down the field to just three winners was a daunting task. You can read the winning essays and get to know our scholars better by visiting our website.
Be sure to visit USM for updates about our upcoming 2014 scholarship program and learn if you qualify and how to enter.
