I was afraid that the motor would take away from the 'plush' description, but it doesn't. It is much more comfortable than my normal lazy boy; excellent cushion support for seat and lower back. One thing I don't care for: the remote is attached to a chord that sits inside the side pocket. It is recommended that you disconnect this chord from the lower chord when not in use. I tried that a couple of times, but trying to reattach it is a challenge. It is too dark to see clearly and you have to flip a plastic piece over the ends to keep them from disconnecting. One side of the plastic piece broke when trying to reattach it. I've just decided to leave it on permanently. I believe the recommendation of disconnecting it is to prevent children from playing with the chair, but I haven't had any problems so far by keeping it attached.

Easy to use, the chair moves just up and down. Vinyl looks close to leather. Very comfortable and mom gets up with ease.

I bought this chair for my father -- age 88, 5'10" and 185 pounds. It is the perfect size for him. He is mobile and lives independently but uses a rolling walker around the house. The ease with which he is able to sit and stand with the new lift chair has changed his life! His attitude has improved, his knees and back hurt less, and he no longer dreads or fears having to stand after watching TV or reading a book from his recliner. I highly recommend this chair. I would have preferred a lighter color (tan/beige) as the "palomino" option is rather dark. Also, the chair is very easy to assemble if you are at all handy (or have someone around who is) but it weighs over 100 pounds so it may take o two people set it up. Finally, I was prepared to order a different chair online but this liftchair turned out to be the perfect choice for my father. |

After several weeks, my father is getting used to the controls and appears to be comfortable. The footrest helps with swelling in the ankles and feet. The liftchair is a nice size, not too bulky like some of the other chairs we looked at.

This is my second lift chair. I had the first 6 years, but was never able to "nap" in it as it was so firm. I thought that was just the way it was, till I tried the Golden Lift Chair. Not only does it have all the same functions as my previous chair, it also has a padded "cushiony" feel which allows me to lay back and nap in total comfort. I get a blanket and lay back and it feels like a warm hug! |
