I bought this product for my mother who is 83 and suffers from severe osteoporosis and also has lumbar spine compression fractures. The chair is very high quality, easy to use, good looking and can be purchased in a variety of sizes to properly fit the user so their legs reach the floor etc. The sales representative that helped me select this model, was extremely helpful, and even made sure I understood how to submit the paperwork to Medicare so I could get reimbursed for a portion of the cost. I'd highly recommend this lift recliner.

EXCELLENT CHAIR, BUT POOR SUPPLIER: I received this Golden MaxiComfort PR-505 infinite position lift chair (Admiral Blue fabric), with optional massage and heat, about three weeks ago. The chair is wonderful. The fabric is soft but durable and attractive in color, and the chair padding is on the firm side. Construction is very rugged (as suggested by the weight of the chair). There are two remote controls and two outlets required... one for the chair positioning mechanism, the other for the heat and massage feature. The chair positioning consists of six buttons - one each for up and down of the seat lift, one each for up and down of the footrest, and one each for up and down of the back. The chair will lift you to a 24 degree angle of the seat - enough to help you rise without actually dumping you onto the floor. As a result of its "infinite position" feature, the controls will let you raise (and lower) the footrest from vertical (down) to horizontal, and the back from vertical (erect) to horizontal, stopping at any position in between. I would suggest for a future design that Golden consider a single-button to return the chair to normal seating position, as some jockeying with the various controls now is necessary. The second remote control provides high and low heating, which seems to be restricted only to the lower back area. It also enables massage in each or all of three zones... shoulders, lower back, or seat, with a variable intensity control. Furthermore, a "wave" setting will sequence back and forth whatever zones you have enabled, and a "pulse" setting will turn them on for a bit, then off for a bit, and again on, for an adjustable 1 to 3 sec cycle. I chose the Golden chair over others primarily because of the sophistication of its massage and heat capabilities. Another improvement I'd suggest is a pocket on the *inside* of the arm for the remote (there is one on the outside of the arm, down along the base of the chair, but that is hard to reach while seated). Else if one leaves the remotes on the seat, one can inadvertently move the chair by sitting on the controls. The attached two pictures show the chair in its fully-raised position. Note the two separate remote controls and two separate cords plugging into the wall, one for the lift/position motors and one for the heat/massage system. The underchair construction is solid. However, one must be very careful in placing the two transformers and cord, so that the chair does not lower onto them. I would suggest that Golden rigidly affix the two transformers to a safe place in the underchair cavity and just run two (or better, one) wall cord(s) out.[...]

This Golden Liftchair is amazing - it's lifts you up to almost a standing position. The fabric is great and the chair is very comfortable. Excellent for anyone who needs to rest with their feet above their heart. I'd also recommend it for anyone with back pain, knee replacements or general arthritis issues. |

My mom, who is unable to move around without assistance, got the chair because her doctor advised her to keep her leg up. She has to be lifted in & out of the chair, but the attendants say it's no problem to do so. Even with very limited use of her hands, she is able to control the chair remote by herself. If a person accidentally leans even lightly on the footrest while helping Mom, the footrest is subject to collapsing. This makes a loud noise which is initially very scary but now they know to watch out for this happening. Mom is not able to straighten her leg and so the chair does not provide the comfort we were hoping for. This is not the fault of the chair in our opinion - it's another physical problem Mom has. She does like her chair very much and we feel that if she were not so physically limited, we wouldn't hesitate to give it 5 stars.

Used primarily for watching television and reading, it's fantastic for elevating my legs above my heart level to control leg swelling. The leather-like fabric really is comfortable and nearly indistinguishable from my leather furniture. Chair operation is simple and smooth. The small size is perfect for my small size.

Purchased for ederly mother in law, who suffers from severe arthritis. The chair makes getting up and down much easier on her. No one has to help her in and out of a chair, which can be painful. It helps to get pressure off her arthritis. It also helps with her hip and knee replacement pain. She can nap very comforatably in the chair. So far she loves it. The cahir does not take up much space and fits her small size great.
