Built for Safety. Every detail of our Rubex electric powered stairlift is designed with your safety in mind. We build safety sensors into the footrest, include a locking mechanism in the seat belt, and give the motor instant reversing capability. With automatic limits at each end of the track, standard mechanical and electrical slack cable safety devices, and a fail-safe mechanism that prevents operation until the seat is in the correct position, this stairlift is one of the safest on the market today. It is ETL listed and meets ASME A17.1 and A18 safety standards for public and private use. We also include call stations for both top and bottom landings, which can be mounted to the wall or to the floor. Read more about AmeriGlide stair lift safety standards.
Easy "Homeowner" Installation. Unbelievably, the AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stair lift simply plugs into the nearest outlet. No special wiring is needed! You can install it on either the right-hand or left-hand side of your staircase; you can even switch it from side to side without any additional parts.
Sleek Design Compliments Any Decor. The AmeriGlide Rubex electric powered stair lift is available in an attractive almond finish with your choice of vinyl seat color. When not in use, you can easily fold up the padded seat and flip up the footrest and your stair lift only takes up 14 inches of space. It's so compact, other people in your household always have full use of the stairs.

Pros Functional, Great, Stores Easily, Easy to Install, Strong Support, Safe |
Cons |
Could of used a 90 degree Molex connector because the landing wall was 3/4 in. out, too close to in-stall the power cord.
Modified the crank with a pipe cap and 1/4 in,
bolt to be driven with a cordless drill. Beats the
hell out of hand power. All and all it is the best
thing I ever did for my ailing wife.
PS. I forgot to set the stop. |

Pros Functional, Safe |
Cons Difficult to Install |
The wiring was incomplete upon arrival - my carpenter spent a lengthy time with customer support to connect wires not connected at the factory.
The chair control cable is very long, and got caught in the chain. A retractable cord would solve the problem
My stair is very narrow, and the lift inpedes stretcher evac - the fire dept about murdered the assembly. A quick release mechanism on the box to rail would be a great feature.
A handle to lower the foot rest, located around the area, would do wonders for entering and exiting the lift.
Overall, its a good product and makes my house more accessible for a 79 year old with a walker |

A Little About Myself |
Pros Easy To Install, Great in a tight space, Easy to use |
Cons |
We have been very happy with the stair lift. My father in law was having trouble with the stairs- he was sort of against buying the lift - worried about cost, space, ease of use- and necessity. He had not really admitted to his physical decline- and was sure things had reached a stable state. But once my husband installed the chair- he uses it everyday and states that he didn't realize how exhaused he was after using the stairs and now he has more energy to complete things that he wants to do- The lift itself is narrow enough for a slim set of stairs in a little split level house. With the seat up, it is easy to walk up the stairs past the chair. The lever to operate the chair is large and easy to find and use. We are very happy with the product and now know what we'll buy when MY parents need one. I am just happy that I know that he is safer in that chair than trying to negiotiate the steps- it is solid and feels secure and safe. And the grandkids love to ride it! |
