Safety Is Our Number-One Priority. Our Rubex Battery Powered Stair Lift includes many safety features. The footrest has built in sensors that can detect objects on the stairs. The seat belt has a locking mechanism and the motor can instantly be reversed if needed. There is also a sensor that only permits the stairlift to be operated when the swivel seat is locked into the correct position. Limits at either end of the track and electrical slack cable safety devices make our Battery Powered Stair Lift one of the safest on the market. It meets ASME A17.1 and A18 safety standards for both private and public use. This stair lift is also ETL listed. Included with the stairlift are two call stations that can be mounted on the top and bottom landing. Read more about AmeriGlide safety standards and certifications.

Installation Is a Breeze. Your AmeriGlide Rubex battery powered stairlift is factory prepared for easy self-installation. No special tools or skills are required! You can install it on either the right-hand or left-hand side of your staircase; you can even switch it from side to side without any additional parts. Because the track is factory-cut to fit your stairs, it connects directly to your stairtreads—not the wall. That means no unsightly structural work!

Sleek, Compact Design. Since space is at a premium, the seat and footrest of our Rubex Battery Powered Stair Lift can be folded up when not in use. When folded, this stair chair only takes up 14 inches of space, so others will still be able to safely use the stairs if needed. With a very elegant almond finish and a choice of vinyl seat color, this stairlift will compliment any home.

We're here to help! Contact one of our stairlift experts to ask any questions or to find out more about how the battery powered stairlift fits your life.

Note: capacity is reduced to 250 pounds if track length is 16 feet or longer.

A Little About Myself

Home owner with good electromechanical skills

Pros

Easy installation, smooth quiet ride, easy to operate, heavy duty lift.

Cons

Wider than desired with the seat & foot rest folded; would be better if arm rests also folded. Would be desirable to automatically turn at the top Landing (a good feature for elderly, forgetful people with dementia).

Service & Delivery

Delivery was quick and right on schedule. Excellent! Have not needed service.
Pleased with the lift and the company.

A Little About Myself

I am too old to be working, but can't afford not to.

Pros

Easy installation. Good quality. Ease of operation.

Cons

The hex head bolts on seat back can dig into the wall if client leans backwards. We changed the bolts to countersunk to fix the problem.

Service & Delivery

Very quick delivery.

A Little About Myself

Pros

It is easy to fit, and the sales rep made measuring it a breeze. It provided peace of mind, my friend is so excited that he can now go upstairs as many times a day as he would like. Before it was 1 trip up and 1 down.

Cons

The install did not take long but it did take them along time to get around to it. Almost 2 weeks.
I researched a lot of these stairlifts and they ranged anywhere from 1500. / to 8500.00, when the reason to increase the price sometimes made sense and others not really, our decision was perfect for our situation.

A Little About Myself

Spouse of user.

Pros

Functional, Quiet, Easy to use, Easy to Install, Safe

Cons

Passage - top of stairs
1) Installation required extra space on stair tread, and that was unexpected. 2) It would be beneficial to have the footrest swivel with the seat. That would aid passage in a narrow stair. 3) The unit is great for my spouse, the primary user. She has degenerative disk disease, and has difficulty climbing stairs. This stair lift unit makes it easy for her to move between floors of our home, and she can enjoy the entire house.

A Little About Myself

Typical Homeowner

Pros

Safe, Functional, Easy to Install

Cons

Extremely easy to install. If you are a "handy" type person, don't waste the money for a professional install. Watch the online videos provided by Summit and you will be fine. As far as the lift itself, it appears to be fine, however we have only had it for three weeks.
